Recreating The Body
Recreating the Body is a photographic series created in collaboration with the German ballet dancer Lisa Pavlov. In this project, I wanted to explore the body of a ballet dancer in a different and more abstract way by focusing on individual body parts rather than the body as a whole.
The series combines fragmented images of hands, arms, legs, feet, and movement, arranged almost like pieces of a puzzle. By reconstructing the body through photography, the work challenges the viewer’s perception of form, identity, and physical expression. The fragmented compositions invite the viewer to look closer and reflect on the relationship between strength, elegance, and vulnerability within the dancer’s body.
Inspired by the discipline and physicality of ballet, the project transforms the body into a visual composition where movement and shape become central elements.
